No-Bake Kitchen Closed Today

It looked so promising.

Everybody has bad days.

Today was mine. The idea was to make a Frozen Flan Cake for today's No-Bake Mondays post. In theory, it would have been spectacular. Jell-o flan, condensed milk, Nilla wafers, cool whip, and some caramel (sounds awesome, right?). Lets just say it had spectacularly runny results (i.e. there is a giant yellow mess in the kitchen that I will have to deal with in a little bit).

I refrigerated it overnight, froze it for another two this morning, and still, NOTHING. It looked like flan soup.. if there is such a thing (hey maybe, that's an idea...). Anyway, so here's an important no-bake lesson for y'all:

..

I wish I had one but I don't. They say nothing is a mistake unless you don't learn from it. And when that happens I'll let you know.

Meanwhile, check out this fantastic article about How To Salvage Runny Jell-o by Rachelle Connery. Rachelle, thank you for making me feel I'm not alone in the runny Jell-o world.

I'll make it up to you next week, I promise.

- Kris Alcantara, failed Jell-o maker.
