It's tough out there.
Lindt stores have been closing everywhere and the Paramus Park Mall branch in Jersey is the latest to close up shop. The Swiss company announced they were closing more than 50 percent of its stores all over the US early last year. It's sad, but you know what that means: CHOCOLATE SALE! Everything is 50 to 70 percent off. I just came home with a bag-full of truffles and noisettes.
Funny story. I shared a bittersweet moment with a stranger at the Lindt store. There we were, filling our bags with chocolate goodies and talk of the store closing came up. "It's the economy," she said as she filled her bag with chocolate-covered marzipans, shaking her head. "I lost my job to the recession... and I'm here buying candy!" We laughed.
