Organic Caramel Truffles, You Sexy Thing

Organic Caramel Truffles. I adore thee.
I met someone!

See, I never liked caramel--to me it was always a chocolate wannabe that just wasn't cool enough to have cocoa in it.

And then two days ago, at a little paradise called the Whole Foods chocolate aisle, I finally met a caramel I kind of like. Really, really like. I bought a box of Organic Caramel Truffles for $6.99 and I'm a happy camper. It was the "truffle" part that called out to me.

Let it be known, I am head over heels in love with chocolate truffles. I think they make one of, if not the most, pleasurable experiences known in the chocolate world. I've had my share of good ones (Royce, I miss you) and bad ones, (Choxie, never call me again), but for the most part, truffles have been these sensual beings that never fail to excite me before, during, and after I eat them.

So I ripped the box open in the car and immediately, the smell of cocoa butter was intoxicating. Rrrrr. The truffle was dusted with cocoa powder--just the way I liked it--looking ever so handsome in deep brown hues. The caramel flavor lent itself nicely, almost like a smooth, sexy, milky-sweet indulgence that wraps around the tongue like silk. So consuming, it took command of my mouth so adamantly, there was nothing else left to do but surrender.

This could be serious.

How I Dated 3 Amazing Cookies

Momofuku's Cornflake-Marshmallow Chocolate Chip Cookie

This is the story of how I dated three amazing cookies.

I searched high and low for them and my standards were high. One main requirement: they had to be unique. Eventually I picked three, and of the three I picked one I love best. So, I broke up with the other two.

Three Pretty Amazing Cookies

1. Red Velvet Cupcake Cookies, Byrd Cookie Company, $7/box
You're an amazing cookie. Really, you are. Major props to the Byrd Cookie Company for introducing an awesome cupcake flavor into the cookie world. Plus, you look hot in pink and I like how your cream cheese-flavored sugar topping is cool on the tongue. The flavor comes close to the real thing. But why are you so tiny?? I would love to see a bigger, freshly-baked version of you one day that's soft and chewy--then maybe I won't feel bad for shelling out $7/box.

2. Chocolate Walnut Chewies, Whole Foods $4.99 for 4
You had me going there. You look more chocolate-y than you actually are. But you make up for it with generous servings of walnuts. Though I had my doubts because you're made with egg whites, I really like how your flaky shell crumbles in my mouth. Your sweetness is subtle. I could've used a little more. You're kinda like that cocky boyfriend who plays it cool in public but secretly turns into mush inside. Not bad, not spectacular.

3. Cornflake-Marshmallow-Chocolate Chip Cookie, Momofuku, $5 for 3
Hello crispy cornflakes and melted marshmallows! You're not exactly the most gorgeous cookie around but we all know looks are deceiving. I love how you're all at once, salty, sweet, crunchy and chewy. Even though I don't want to think about how much butter went into making you, I give Momofuku two thumbs way up for creativity. Cornflake-Marshmallow Chocolate-Chip Cookie, you had me at hello. XOXO.

In the Name of Fashion Week

Sore throat gone and back in business.

First on the agenda: perfect cookie round-up. From freshly-baked to store-bought, I was seduced by three very different cookies. It was tough picking a favorite but somebody won me over completely.

Watch 'em strike a pose.

Married to Chocolate is Back

I've been on a two-month hiatus (just blogging, not eating) and I'm back with exciting and.. not so exciting developments.

1. The long vacation has awarded me with tons of sweet sweet adventures. Tons, I tell you, that I have moved up a dress size in 8 weeks. Soon, I will blog about the cheesiest cheesecake ever made, treasures at the Whole Foods dessert bar, and an award-winning and shamefully simple cake recipe that will ROCK YOUR WORLD.

1. Not only did Married to Chocolate move to blogspot, I also moved to Jersey. I now live with two diabetics. Me! Staying in a house where chocolate is banned and jelly is sugar-free. It's like telling Britney Spears, "No, there will be no booty-shaking in this house, only waltz." Okay, bad metaphor but it's just.. not right.

BUT, I am 15 minutes away from one of the world's culinary capitals soooooo...

Sit tight, we be (dessert) bar crawlin' soon, NYC-style.
